Freshwater

Using a small volume from a lake or river, we can detect which types of animals or invasive species were in the sampled water. Combining eDNA and eRNA data, the relative populations of these animals can be monitored over time and false positives limited.

Sediment

DNA and RNA deposited thousands of years before from all living things can be obtained from sediment cores. Complementing standard approaches of environmental modelling, the combination of eDNA and eRNA analyses provides reliable identification of plants and animals through different periods of time.

Wastewater

Standardized wastewater monitoring programs collect samples full of information on the health of people, plants, and animals living in the environment. eDNA and eRNA found in water quality testing answers complex questions

Air

DNA and RNA remain in the air and can be collected from a far distance for a long period of time. Leveraging existing air quality monitoring systems, or sampling the air at a site of interest allows for comprehensive environmental monitoring and modelling through eDNA and eRNA analyses. 

Soil

Genetic information and products left in soil are assessed to specifically identify terrestrial plants and animals. eDNA and eRNA analyses provides a sensitive and cost-effective approach to monitor biodiversity.
